It's ALL Fun and Games Blogfest!!! Sardines, anyone? :)

Today is Alex J. Cavanaugh's It's All Fun and Games Blogfest!!!  Can I get a "Woot woot!"  :)

Click HERE to see all entries!!
I LOVE games!!  In fact, I make it a point to do a game night with the gals at least once a month.  It'd be every weekend if it were up to me.  Games are wonderful for some bonding, healthy competition, and laughter with friends and family.  There is always some type of game going on at every Weaver holiday get together.  Here's my (near the) top faves:

FAVORITE BOARD GAME:

Omigosh!  I LOVE Cranium!!  This game has it all - humming (yes, you read that right), drawing, charades, word puzzles, trivia, clay sculpting.  I've had some of my most favorite memories come from a rousing game of Cranium.  If you've never played this WONDERFUL game - run to a local store and pick it up TODAY!

FAVORITE GAME-GAME:

The best time to play sardines?  At night.  The best place to play sardines?  A big house/space with LOTS of hiding places.  The best group of people to play sardines with?  This one's fun for the WHOLE family!!!  It's basically like reverse hide-n-seek.  Instead of everyone hiding and one person finding - one person hides and the whole group goes out to find them.  As you find the one person, you're supposed to hide with them, until there is only one person left.  Dark, large spaces with oodles of hiding space are essential!

FAVORITE CARD GAME:

Hand and Foot.  This could keep you going for HOURS, but it sure is fun!!  Never heard of it before?  Ask me all about it.  :)  *Oh, and make sure you've got LOTS of decks of cards...

Thanks, Alex and gang, for hosting another FUN blogfest!!  I can't wait to hop around and see what other great games everyone is playing.  What's your favorite game?

Never played sardines. You don't use real fish do you? Because it would suck to miss one!
Thanks for participating in the blogfest.

Wow. Except for Cranium I haven't heard of them. Hmmm ...

Let me guess...you have to hold your cards with your feet too?

I think my kids must've just discovered Sardines over Memorial Day weekend. Sounds like what they were playing with their cousins.

I've played smaller versions of Cranium, I think--smaller versions that took up time while my cousins and I waited around in a pizza restaurant. :P

I've never heard of the others, though!

Sardines sounds too claustrophobic for me. Cranium definitely sounds pretty entertaining.

We used to play sardines at church with the youth group. It was soooo fun and creepy hiding in a dark church.

Hubby and I have a copy of Cranium. We have never played it. Not once. No one who ever comes over wants to play. *pouts*

I LOVE me some cranium!! And Sardines sounds awesome. It'd be great to play outside in the evening in a huge field or something.

I've never played Cranium, but I always wanted to.

Sardines sounds like a hoot. You would definitely need a huge house to play in...

I have never heard of Hand and Foot card game. WIth all those cards it must be a hoot.

I live for Hand and Foot! It's our game every summer during our family camping trip. We have tournaments! It's all very competitive. I'll confess that I annoy everyone because...I'm what you call a pile slut. If there are 3 red threes or less and that pile is full of goodness, I will risk it!! 90% of the time it pays off and the only people annoyed are the ones I'm playing...that other 10%? Well, that's the reason no one likes to be my partner. We do two tourneys - individual and teams. I won the team tourney last year with my Uncle Jack! Okay, I'll shut up now...more than you ever needed to know about my family's Hand and Foot fetish! ;-)

That's strange. I'm the king, but I don't remember ever meeting you. We must rule different kingdoms. Or queendoms.
