I don't know about you, but I find that first inevitable kiss in anything I read or watch to be a
BIG lovely pay-off! I'm that girl that, on occasion, could be seen with my nose inches from page/screen, eyes wide, breath held and at some point screaming, "Oh my gosh! Will you KISS already???!"
OK, well maybe that's an exaggeration
(nope, it's not...) but I do love me a good kissing scene. I wanted to add an excerpt or two of my favorite kissing scenes from books - but, for anyone who hasn't read these books, well - I decided I just couldn't spoil it for you. So, I thought I'd add a few pics of some of my favorite screen kisses. If you don't know about these ones, well...
#1: Buffy and Spike
*Sorry Angel/Buffy fans, but it wasn't her kiss that turned Angel evil...just sayin'. And Buffy & Spike's hotty-tot kisses have been known to bring down the house - literally!
#2: Disney's Beauty and the Beast
*I want a kiss like this! I love how it starts slow, tender...and then the light and the wind swirl around them, whipping their hair, sucking them in deeper...
*sigh* and, umm...fireworks! Score!!
How do you feel about kissing scenes? Love them? Hate them? Favorites? Do tell. And hope you have a very Happy Wednesday! And maybe a good kiss or two... ;)

I love 'em. One of my favorites is when Harry and Ginny finally kiss for the first time--right in front of God and everybody--in Half Blood Prince.
I LOVE kissing scenes! Sometimes I can't put a book down just because I want to get to the kiss.
I did a post about my top ten kissing scenes last week, but I forgot one of my faves: Newsies. Cowboy sees Sarah, gives her a devastatingly adorable upnod, like, "Yo, wassup?" then pulls her in a kisses her. And everyone cheers. I love it.
Fun to do, awkward to write!
It takes a smooth writer to do a proper kissing scene. When written with just the right timing it could be wonderful... If not...EEEKKKK!
I just read a fantastic first kiss scene--very realistic with the nerves and delivery. Unfortunately, it was in a Carrie Ryan novel so zombies came out a page later to spoil the moment :)
Yup, I like a good kissing scene too. One of the best screen kisses I've seen is from the BBC adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South. The scene was totally NOT from the book, but it was one of those rare cases where the adaptation is better than the original.
Yep, having a kiss is important, especially in YA/teen novels. I mean...that was my fave part as a teen, so I know teens like to read those. So I try to have one in every novel. LOL
Ooooooo. A good kiss scene makes my toes curl!
Buffy and Spike - hell yeah!
Maybe it's a carry-over from my early years, but my brother and I used to watch television (black and white) and everytime there was a kissing scene, we'd tease each other. I'd yell: Mikey's stuff! He'd yell: Gail's stuff!
Most kissing scenes are just gorgeous whether written or visual. Not easy to write though at times.

My husband still makes mouth popping noises when the kissing starts, thinks he is still in the kids' Saturday morning cinema show! :0)
ah, we do love kissing of all kinds and all sorts everywhere and anywhere :)
Yes, kissing scenes are so...good. :) I have a cute MG one I wrote but unfortunately, no one will ever read it. :(
I love kissing scenes. Movies, books, real life - bring 'em on. Writing, yep, love those, too!! Great choice for K.

I love a good kissing scene! Hard to pick a favorite though. But the romance in GHOST was just outstanding.
Ha ha...I think I just read the kissing scene the Jess described. I'm reading a Carrie Ryan book right now.
I am right there with you - the inevitable and "about damn time!!!" kiss scenes are the best! And I have known a few VERY excellent kissers in my time, and good kissing is one of the most important things out there ;)
Love kissing scenes. There are some very yummy ones in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.
