So...clearly, if you're portraying real life in your novels...your characters are going to get hungry from time to time. You are feeding them, right??
And if your character happens to be in Canada...he/she might enjoy a nice big plate of this:

POUTINE!! Nummy...fries, cheese and graaaavvvvyyy... :) |
And when you do give your characters a little something to gnaw on...do you think about making it region specific? Or time specific? I'm sure a 12th century warrior in a fictional Kingdom would ultimately enjoy a bag of french fries, but...
So, tell me? How well are you keeping your characters nourished? Oh, really? Prove it. Give me a line from you current WiP/published novel that's all about the food.
And Eat well and prosper this weekend!

Wow. That's a heart attack on a plate.
I'd eat that!
I'd have to search for a line, but I have one where Byron wonders if eating the ship's food wouldn't be better than the local Tgren fare.
hi miss donea! our cousin that lives in canada loves that poutine stuff. ack! for sure i got my characters eating good. heres a line from my wip thats on a island. "...he stuffed himself with fresh coconut, avocado pear and, for dessert, a big piece of sweet, juicy mango." now i gotta go get me something to eat. ha ha.
...hugs from lenny
I've always wanted to try poutine! And yes, my characters definitely eat. But since they're four girls on a road trip, it's mostly chips and candy and all that good stuff. :)
LOL I thought that was waffles with caramel sauce!
My poor MC makes herself a microwave meal which does go quite to plan. LOL! Love this post :O)
Donea, I tagged you. You willing to play?

I tend to let them starve!
Gravy??? on French fries??? Okaaaaay. Well, I won't say it's NOT good until I've tried it. LOL
Um, yeah. I seem to have food in my novels a LOT. Not sure what that's saying. I have some killer lasagna that makes my MC get up in the middle of the night for a second helping! Gooey, cheesy, spiced with oregano. Yum!
Oh I don't think I can do that easily. But being that my recent story takes place in a fantasy world, my MC is usually eating a strange fruit. :)
