This is Me Thursdays - Face Off

*gulp*

So...I guess I did give you all permission to skip Thursdays, didn't I?  My intent on the the 5th day of the week is to dish about me, my likes, dislikes, this, that and the other.  I'll warn you now - this may be a whole lot of, "So...did you watch that show on t.v...."  Because - I spend WAY too much of my time watching the ol' boob tube.  Is there serioulsy a scientific study out there that equates t.v. time with the loss of brain cells?  (that would explain a lot, actually...)

Anywho!!  Some of my faves of late tend to be reality tv shows about really creative people.  Project Runway is the one that got me ADDICTED!!  And I can't sew a stitch.

I also love, loVE, LOVE Top Chef.  (and can you believe the SyFy channel gave Marcel his own show???)

I watched one called Work of Art last year.  I can't say that I totally GOT or agreed with some of the art that the judges seemed to love...  Still, I'd like to see it come back for another season.  (yeah, I also can't draw or paint or sculpt or any of these cool things, so big KUDOS to those who can!)

But, the new one that has caught my attention is a show on the SyFy Channel called Face Off.

As you can see - it's a challenge for Hollywood make-up artists to turn a human into something....else.  This is most certainly an art form!  It even involves a little chemistry.  I saw guys and girls transformed into beetles, elephant-like creatures, and strange ostrich/human hybrids.  There was even a rather disturbing prom date disaster.  Some amazing talent - truly!

As writers, I know a lot of us can really appreciate the different avenues of creativity that other people explore.  So, tell me - What's your Favorite other-than-writing art form?

Happy Thursday!  Oh - btw, here's another plug for my 100+ followers celebration.  If you're not in on it yet, please enter HERE!

I love Top Chef as well (and I had no idea that Marcel got his own show!!! Grrrrrrr)! Even though my budget doesn't always allow me to cook the type of food that I'd like to, I think food is one of my favorite art forms (can I say that and not be laughed at?). Just like books, food can comfort (beef stew and hearty bread), make you laugh (my failed chorizo experiment), cry (onion chopping), think in new directions (roasted brussel sprouts dipped in chocolate???), and just be happy to be in this world (christmas cookies with eggnog and family). That Face/Off show looks pretty cool to me!

Face off sounds really interesting.

I love art in any form, but my favorite "artistic" activity when not reading or writing at this stage is to watch movies...

Neat. I've never heard of Face Off. I'll check it out online. Thanks.

So .... did you eat anything yummy this week? We've been groovin on leftover chicken, mash and corn. Just sent Tim to work with the last of it.

I'm off from work and headed offline to get my chores done. Cold here today but very BRIGHT outside. I love that.

Anyway, catch you next time. Until then, eat well.

I like Top Chef! Marcel has his own show? When did he get his own show? I'll have to look for that one.

oooh, I love DID YOU SEE THAT SHOW questions :))
My favourite art form beside writing and film is fashion design and cooking, and I excel in both things, if I may be immodest :)

I love Top Chef, too. Face-off is really interesting. Although I don't know how to do what they do, I can think up designs for creatures.

I like Iron Chef and Cupcake Wars a lot, too. Then there are the Pawn Stars and other picker like shows. Maybe I watch too much TV. lol

Well, I don't have a lot to say about this one because I seldom watch TV, but since I'm home these days I have been watching court tv once a day. Does that count as reality TV?
